Over the last couple of months I’ve been so inspired when visiting other blogs. I’ve seen several bloggers share their monthly goals with their readers and I thought this seemed like such a great idea! Each month I try to set goals for myself anyway, so sharing with you all seems like a great way to keep myself accountable. So without further adieu, here are my goals for the month of July!
-
Post Consistently (3x/week).
Getting into a regular routine with my posts has been something that I’ve been struggling with A LOT. I have a full-time job, I’m going to school, and I have a 13-month old, so sometimes by the end of the day I just feel too tired to get the computer out. So this month I really want to focus on getting more organized and setting a schedule and posting at a minimum of 3x a week.
-
Grow my subscriber list.
Until recently, I really didn’t have a subscriber list. HUGE mistake! I’m learning the importance of having a subscriber list and really see it’s value as a way of keeping in contact with readers who can’t stop by the blog all the time! I have so many things that I want to share, so growing my subscriber list and sharing relevant content is really important to me.
-
Expand my blogging network.
I love reading other blogs and always get inspired by what I see, but I don’t feel like I’m very well connected to the blogging world. I definitely want to expand my blogging network and meet new people, so this month I’m putting myself out there and attending the Haven Conference! I’m so excited to go and connect with others while learning some really valuable blog and DIY things at the same time.
-
Yoga 3x/week.
I used to not be a fan of yoga, but since I found the Asana Rebel app on Apple TV, I have really enjoyed doing yoga in the mornings before work. However, I don’t do it as routinely as I would like, so like with other goals this month, I want to make this a priority and schedule it as part of my weekly activities. I find that when I do yoga, I feel much better and can handle the days stressors much better. So for this month, I’m aiming for 3x a week.
-
Meal plan every week.
Meal planning is so important to staying on track with good eating habits. When I don’t have meals planned out, I find that I either don’t eat or I eat junk. So this month, I want to create a meal plan each week so I can have meals planned ahead of time. This will also help my with my grocery shopping so I know exactly what to get!
-
In bed by 10.
I’ve been working on my sleep habits lately, so I want to continue progressing in this area and make sure that through the week, I’m in bed by 10pm.
-
Read The Magnolia Story.
I’ve had this book sitting on my nightstand for at least 2 months and I think I’ve only read about 10 pages. It’s not because the book hasn’t been good so far, but I keep the book in my bedroom and by the time I go to bed, I’m too tired to read. So I’m this month I will find the time to read it!
-
Make a scrapbook.
I’m not even going to tell you how many scrapbooks I’ve purchased with the intent of actually making one. I’ll give you a hint – it’s a lot! I always see cute scrapbooks on sale at a craft store and I always pick them up with the intent of completing it that weekend. Ha! I barely even get them out of the bag! So this month, I’m GOING to finish one!
-
Organize My Pantry.
My pantry has gone through quite a workout over the last several years. I’ve rearranged it, removed shelves, added shelves, and a whole lot of other things and it’s getting close to how I think I want it, but I still have some work to do. So this month, I want to finish organizing it, complete with coordinated containers (of course! 🙂 ).
-
Put $500 in savings.
This one’s pretty self-explanatory. With having a little one, I want to make sure we have plenty saved up for a rainy day. Or college. Or some other crazy expensive thing. So while $500 may seem a little lofty, I’m hopeful I can make it happen.
-
Pay off 1 bill.
Obviously when I say I want to pay off one bill I’m not talking about my general monthly bills. I’m talking debt. So this month, I want to pay off our lowest outstanding bill so we can start making some better progress at getting out of debt.
-
Make an extra $50.
My hope is that between the blog, cash back apps, selling things on Craigslist or Facebook, that I can make at least an extra $50 this month.
There you have it! It looks like I’m going to have a busy month ahead of me, but it should be productive and will help to get me in a better place in every facet of my life. Next month I’ll follow up with my how I did towards each of my goals, as well as set some new ones!
