I’m so excited that tomorrow is January 9th! I know, super random day to be excited about, but in case you weren’t aware, tomorrow starts the beginning of the A Bowl Full of Lemons’ Home Organization 101 Challenge! I have been looking forward to this day for about a month and I’m so excited the day has finally come to get started! With a baby coming in June, this is the perfect opportunity to take some time to get the house organized and baby ready (especially since the challenge will be starting and ending while I still have some energy left). Not to mention, with the baby coming, there have been some discussions in our house happening around whether it’s almost time to move or not. Our current thought is that in the next year we’ll look at getting a new house. However, time in our house is like dog years. When we say 1 year, it actually means 5 years. Let’s go on a vacation next year….or in 4 or 5 years. Kid? Sure, “next year” – 5 years later…. You get the idea. So while I’m excited about the prospect of getting in to a new house, I’m also looking at this challenge as a way to get organized which will help me love my house for the next year (5 years). 🙂
In case you’re not aware of this challenge, it’s basically a very organized, meticulous way of getting your entire home cleaned and organized in a way that will allow you to actually LIVE in the house and keep it clean and organized! Each week’s focus is on a different room and to help make things easier, there’s a handy checklist for each week to keep you focused and to help make sure you don’t leave any stone unturned. There’s also a great online community of people that are following this same challenge, so you’re not going through it alone. The Facebook group for this challenge is great about support, suggestions, ideas, and so much more – I highly recommend taking advantage of the social support and joining the group.
