Brown Sugar Bourbon Bacon: The Ultimate Breakfast Meat
If your house is anything like mine, bacon is a welcomed addition to any weekend breakfast. I’ve come to hate it however because I hate cooking bacon in a pan on the stove and having bacon grease fly everywhere. I also hate that it seems to take forever because you can only put so many strips of bacon in the pan at once. So, the obvious solution to this problem is to bake the bacon! And while I was at it, I decided to try my hand at the ultimate bacon: Brown Sugar Bourbon Bacon!
My husband LOVES bourbon, so I wanted to try to up my bacon game by infusing some bourbon flavor. Since it’s in the oven so long, the alcohol bakes off leaving the perfect amount of bourbon flavor that even non-bourbon drinkers will love (trust me, I’m one of them! 😛 )! I also wanted to caramelize the bacon to really seal in the flavor and give the bacon a little extra crunch, so adding brown sugar seemed like a perfect way to do this.
I will caution you – this bacon is GOOD and it will ruin any diet you may be on….don’t say I didn’t warn you. 🙂

- Lay out bacon on covered sheet pan with no overlap.
- Dab or brush bourbon onto bacon. Then sprinkle brown sugar and black pepper over the top of the bacon.
- Bake at 375 degrees for 25 minutes to allow bacon to crisp and sugar to caramelize. Then let rest for 5 minutes to cool before serving.
If using thick-cut bacon you'll need to allow more time for your bacon to cook in order to allow it to crisp up.
