Sunday football is a tradition in our house. Despite the fact that we no longer have a local team to cheer on since the Rams moved, we still watch any games we can every Sunday. Even my daughter loves watching the games! It’s not unusual to hear her cheering or clapping along as Daddy gets excited about a play. I usually try to make a new recipe on Sundays, and for this week, I went with these Ultimate Game Day BBQ Nachos. They were so easy to make and with the right tools have the potential to be easy to clean up too!
Ingredients
- 1 4 lb Pork Butt
- 1 18 oz bottle BBQ sauce
- 1 Party Size Bag Tortilla Chips
- 1 23 oz Jar White Queso
- 1 24 oz Jar Salsa
- 1 2.25 oz can Black Olives
- 1 8 oz container Guacamole
Servings: people
Instructions
- Put the pork in the crock pot the night before you are planning to make the nachos and cook it on slow overnight.
- In the morning, remove the fat cap from the pork in the crockpot, and add half of the bottle of BBQ sauce to the crockpot and shred pork.
- If making white queso, begin preparation following the instructions found below in the 'recipe notes' section.
- If making guacamole, begin preparation following the instructions found below in the 'recipe notes' section.
- When the game is about to start, pile chips on a plate and top with cheese, salsa, guac, olives, and BBQ, then enjoy!
Recipe Notes
- My all-time favorite recipe for white queso is from The Baking Fairy and can be found here. Of course there is no shame in buying queso already made - I do that far more than I make it!
- My go-to method for guacamole is a combo of pre-made and fresh. What do I mean by that exactly? I mean I use an incredible mix and combine with two fresh avocados. It's super easy and delivers a fresh tasting guacamole without the hassle. My favorite mix that I use is Frontera Guacamole Mix. If you haven't tried it, trust me, you should! You won't regret it!
- For a super easy cleanup, be sure to use Reynolds Slow Cooker Liners. I thought I'd be able to clean up easily this time without them - WRONG! I totally regret not using them today, but will for sure have more on hand for the next time I use my crock pot.

I love nachos! My family gets worried every single time when I make nachos because I can eat a LOT of them.
I wished the photo would have been bigger so I can at least see them better (since eating food straight from a web page is not available yet).
Ant says
I have never had white queso before! Love making nachos, especially when they are BBQ.
Trisha Rawlings says
OMG – you’ve never had white queso!?! You HAVE to try it! It’s typically far creamier than traditional nacho cheese which is what makes it absolutely incredible!
