Now that the craziness of the holidays is over, it’s time to get super organized. With that obviously comes cleaning out the closet. I thought it would be hard for me to get rid of stuff while I’m pregnant because I figured there would be lots of “ooooh, but I can get back in to that” type moments. Surprisingly though, it was way easier for me this time! There are so many things that I hadn’t worn in several years, let alone months, so why on earth would I keep them?!?! It was a very freeing exercise for me, but also a tad depressing because when I looked at what I have left, then even closer at what I can wear now, the panic set in.
See, I work from home. Being pregnant and working at home is AWESOME! I pretty much have no style when it comes to my daily wardrobe since I don’t leave the house much during the day. And I don’t need to buy a ton of work appropriate clothing since I never see my co-workers. Instead, I usually wear my maternity yoga pants with a baggy t-shirt to work every day. Life’s rough…I know. 😛 On occasion though, I do have to travel for my job which requires me to dress like a grown-up, so when I see that all I have left in my closet that I can fit in to is my yoga pants, a pair of maternity jeans, and about 5 baggy t-shirts and sweatshirts, it’s time to panic a little.
I’m only 18.5 weeks pregnant right now, but I’m basically the size of a small house. I don’t know how this happened. I figured I would look like this at like 30 weeks, but I’m not ready yet! It was super depressing when I saw one of my friends this past week that said “you’re not that big, I was a little bigger than that at 18 weeks.” Innocent enough, right? It would’ve been, but she had been carrying TWINS! *smh* Oh well, it is what it is – time to shop for some grown-up clothes.
Another reason I dread buying maternity clothes is because they’re expensive!! However, I’ve been doing some searching and found some awesome maternity dresses that should help me pass for a grown-up when I travel in a couple weeks for work. The best part? They’re all under $75. Most are under $50! This should definitely help me add some maternity style to my current wardrobe! 🙂
